Sedona climb: AB Young Trail #100

Since I've moved to Sedona, I get outside and enjoy the natural beauty around me every day. I've hiked almost all the trails (over 100) in the 4 months I've lived here.

Recently I climbed the AB Young Trail. I parked at the Bootlegger Trailhead and after wandering a bit and asking a few people (no one knew what I was talking about), I found the trail sign:

I began my ascent and after 33 switchbacks, I made it to the top. Then there was a trek across the mountain top to the lookout station:

7196' never looked so sweet. Even though there was a sign saying do not climb the structure, well, c'mon, I made it that far and no one was around. Got these great shots:
Round trip took about 3 1/2 hours, but I did stop and chat with a group of 3 couples from the Chicago Loop area. We had a lively conversation about how we did not miss the cold and how great it was to be hiking around Sedona. Unfortunately, they weren't staying. Fortunately, I am :)

If you have ever hiked Sedona or have a suggestion on an epic hike you've taken anywhere, leave me a comment below. I'd love to hear about it. I'm always looking for new adventures.
