My top 5 favorite Christmas Movies
There are a few movies that are irrevocably tied to Christmas in my mind. I love each and every one and enjoy watching them again every year. Here they are in no particular order:
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation - Clark Griswald tries so hard to make it the perfect Christmas which causes everything to fall apart. Pretty much mirrors my family Christmases.
A Christmas Story - You're gonna shoot your eye out! And eating the soap. And the dogs grabbing the turkey. And the lamp, oh my god, the lamp! There is so much that is fun in this movie.
Elf - Not only is Will Ferrel adorable in this pic with the classic understated humor of Bob Newhart, it was the last movie I saw with my Grandma before she lost her eyesight to AMD (advanced macular degeneration). The whole family went and it's one of my favorite memories.
It's a Wonderful Life - I can still remember the first time I saw this classic, I think I was in my 20's, and of course, ended up crying at the end. It's just a really, really good story with some amazing actors. It will make you feel good every...single...time you see it.
Auntie Mame - OK, so it's not a "standard" Christmas movie, but there is a really nice Christmas scene in it that I love. And I have seen all versions of this, but Rosalind Russell will always be the true, one and only Auntie Mame in my mind.
Well that's my holiday movie round-up. What are your favorite holiday movies? Let me know in the comments section!
