Ingredients Deep Dive into my 99% Natural Body Butter via EWG's Skin Deep Cosmetics Database
Since my business inception, I've been a stickler for trying to use the least amount of chemicals, additives and colors in my products but supplying the best scented items. It's a balancing act, to say the least. I've always been a cruelty free company, but I've never been an all-natural company. There are some chemicals and synthetics that I find are necessary to produce fine quality fragrances and body care products. But I still try to avoid as many as possible, hence why none of my products are colored. Just one more chemical I really want to avoid, even if it does make it look pretty.
I do not make any of my lotion bases, instead I research samples from many, many different companies and then I choose the best ones based on the above criteria. You will NEVER receive a runny, watery lotion from me.
In case you were wondering who EWG Skin Deep is, it is my go to resource if I have any questions about an ingredient, with the 2nd being Wikipedia. They use the power of information to protect human health and the environment. Their database gives you practical information to protect yourself and your family from everyday exposures to chemicals. They have an easy to understand rating system:
Here's a deep dive of each individual ingredient in my 99% natural body butter. I remember when I first got this sample, I was really, really excited to add it to my product line. Even though it's not vegan (due to the beeswax), it has been a top seller from the 1st day. And every ingredient is all-natural and plant based, except for the preservative Optiphen.
